During one day they handed out checks at my local FV, I was told I didn't get one because corp determined I shouldn't be paid for some unsaid reason even though I clocked full time 2 weeks. This mean also that I clocked hours beyond the pay period as well that I never received. I was in total shock. During the same shift a racist guy in line started to call the people behind him (black and white couple) racist names. I told the guy I didn't support that point of view as he was talking to me during the racist rant. The guy went to the manager and told on me. I got fired. The only job I have ever been fired from. This was 1997 in Quincy Illinois and I am still pissed off about it. Just as I did then, I expect this defunct company has no plans to right any wrongs. I am glad you people went out of business. VERY GLAD. *** heads!

This company does not honor it shipping commitments, lies about delivery dates, and does not return phone calls. If you happen to call and get Kelin, hang up and try again. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

Bad Customer Service and Lousy Delivery

Despite being told I would receive the video long before Christmas (this was a present for my son), it did not come on time. On December 20, I called the company and spoke with Kelin (avoid at all cost if you ever need to call as his word cannot be trusted). Kelin told me it was being shipped the next day and would arrive either the day before or the day after Christmas. As of January 10 my son had still not received the video and I called and left a message, which was never returned. When I finally spoke with Kelin again, he told me the video had only been shipped on January 10. I RECEIVED ABSOLUTELY NO INFORMATION DURING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER OF JANUARY ABOUT THE DELAYS. THE BEST THEY WANTED TO DO WAS GIVE ME A LOUSY $5 CREDIT, SO THIS IS WHY I AM WRITING. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

I was more or less trained to be a guinea pig to help closeout the store in my location. And then trying to have a bill dropped on me that was never mine. First time I ever set foot in the door was first interview to be hired. Filing unemployment because a two month job and let go for b.s. NOT HAPPY. Good thing I called Glenview Ill or I would not be receiving my W2. Couldn't even put my address in but put a b.s. one in computer. Pissed off royally. Hacked and no judgement against me like they tried. It's called Identity theft and and lowlife *** to rack up a balance. Customer is supposed to show ID. Knowing who it is is a Godsend. And they will be doing the time for their crime. Thankful I pulled my Credit report before making this phone call to get this debt gone.

last night we go to family video to rent a movie, we have been going ther for more than 10 years. we always take our little chihuahua there everybody been nice and friendly about it until last he wait until we check out told us we cant take my dog in my dad was not happy about it. i am sad to say we are no longer going in that store or any family video because of that. that is sad you guys treat us after so many years?bad service

I ordered a series of movies in one order and all of them was shipped except for this one which they are still offering up for sale. I have contacted them a few times to find out when it will be shipped. Either they don't respond or claim that they are backlogged. I have done business with other vendors in the same amount of time and gotten the dvds within a week. The excuses are running thin with me. I will be making a few phone calls to the BBB and to the main office.Don't buy from them,

I went to the Tahlequah Oklahoma branch I believe the date was April 17th. It was a Friday. I know one man named Chase, who is the assistant manager, waited on me. He said I owed fees from last year. I told him no I didn't. And he got really rude with me. He said that if the money means that much to me then he'll just take out the fees. For one thing, you do not talk to customers that way. You do not say to a customer that if your money means that much to you. Of course my money means a lot to me, especially now during this time. I did not appreciate Chase's attitude towards me and him arguing with me about my money. He was very rude. You don't get snotty with the customers if you're in customer service. And Chase got snotty with me.

Stop selling CBD oil

I just want to make a complaint. In regards to your name being Family Video. Not. I never quite understood why. Family video with start to sell CBD oil And not only do I find it odd. I also. Don't like that there is no other advertising about the movies. It's all about the CBD oil. The advertisements are all over the place including their main advertisement board where they change things out each day. There is such an epidemic in our city as well as other cities in regards to marijuana usage and selling. I understand CBD oil is not marijuana. However selling it at a family video with the Highlight on the word family. I find it very disturbing that this is their main selling point... They are advertising CBD oil for sales more than the gas stations more than the vape shops. I just think it should primarily be about the videos if they can't sell videos any more than they need to rethink their marketing not go with CBD oil. It's so trashy.

Agree. Same thing happened in my small town.

Mislabeled movies

So decided on my way home from a week drive time from work to pick up some movies for the night. Spent about 45 minutes browsing the store and deciding what I want cuz I'm a slow chooser. I alternate Lee opted for 1 disc oh I nearly released TV series 2 movies from the two for a dollar section, and one from the nearly new. As I'm cashing out I get asked if I want Friday the 13th for one night or two nights. I said it was in the two for a dollar section so isn't it for five nights? I'm told no cuz it's a Halloween movie and it's Halloween season it's $2. It has a sticker well a lot of the times there's movies moves down there still have their own stickers on them. So I just spent 10 minutes finding a second movie for my two for a dollar movies to find out that it doesn't even qualify right now in the big signs above it all say two for a dollar not watch out for Halloween sales or anything like that. And then I had to go find a different movie anyway to complete my two for one. All around just rude about it. This is at the Stevens Point Wisconsin location.

Family Video - Bad customer service
I went in to pay my phone bill and rent movies. The store clerk happened to be at the phone booth table already so I approached her. She was on the phone and I assumed she was taking care of another customer so I sat there for a min. She eventually asked for my information (still on the phone). It became very difficult to communicate with her being on the phone. She told me to hold on several times before I realized she was on a personal phone call with her insurance company. She became so upset with them her attitude started to overflow into her job. Long story short she stayed being hateful giving me the number to HER superior which, lo & behold, is voicemails that never get checked. Smh. Worst experience ever! I'm leaving a picture of her below. Her name is Crystal Craig.

I went to family video in wdm iowa to pick up a game I placed on hold maybe an hour before arriving. when I got there of course no game. the guy told me to come back the next day and the game would be there and he would only charge me1.00 for 2 nights. so I went today and there is a different person there. I tell him about the game. I be damn no game again and he had no idea what I was talking about! so the previous person did not even leave any notes. I am super pissed and the guy was rude and unapologetic!

I was charged twice for the rental of "ONE" movie. This was due to their faulty computers. I didn't notice until I was checking my online bank statement. Contacted local store immediately and was told I had to present a hard copy of my bank statement. WHAT????? So I sent an email to corporate, who apparently forwarded that to a District Manager, who emailed me and said, "Yes, I would have to provide a hard copy of my bank statement." I'm sorry, but NEVER have I been required to provide my private bank statement in any situation in my life. So, I called Family Video corporate and was given the Regional Manager's voice mail. Left a complete message of the situation and what had transpired. They NEVER replied nor called back. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Family Video would not reply to them either. Understand this was for $3.20 and they could have just offered a free rental, but no, they were horribly rude and nasty over the phone AND via e-mail. Will NEVER rent from there again. The quality of person they hire has gone way down hill. There is NO semblance of customer service excellence nor a friendly attitude.

I went to family video today on 9mile in warren michigan at 6pm The man was rude.I asked him how much do i owe for late movies because i wanted to pick out another movie and he would not tell me.he said go pick out your movies then i will tell you your late balance.then i went to counter with movies to check out and he said you owe 9 dollars and smiled when i asked can i pay 5 dollars and the other 4 dollars tomorrow since i do rent movies alot and He told me No ,you cant rent any movies because your balance is under 10 dollars if you owed more i would only be able to work out a payment arrangement to pay later if you owed over 10 dollars.I will not do business this family video ever again i am a regular customer.but not no more.there are other video stores other then them and with a smart tv i can rent movies at home from the internet and thats what i did today rented movies at home i dont have to be mistreated for 9 dollars.when i was going to pay it.

Over and over again they have dispensed to us DVDs that are not playable. Now I just want my money back. They think they can just shut me up by offering another scratched up DVD to replace the other scratched DVD. Your inspection and cleaning of DVDs suck. This time I just want my refund!

This happened to me every time I rent a dvd in their Belleville, IL. locations.

They freeze and skip halfway into a movie. The boxes they come in are dirty and sticky too.
